Boston City Council Approves $27.2 Million in Community Preservation Act Funding

BOSTON -- April 13, 2022, Boston City Council approves $27.2 million in Community Preservation Act funds for 52 city projects. Committee Chair Michael Flaherty presented the slate at the April 13 meeting, which allocates $14.66 million for affordable housing, $6.14 million for historic preservation, and $6.4 million for open space and recreation across the city; the council voted unanimously to approve docket 0313. Multiple councilors, including Julia M. Mejia and Tania Fernandez Anderson, raised pointed concerns about geographic inequity, with Fernandez Anderson arguing the distribution reflects "people who have access, people who are directly connected."
