BOSTON -- June 17, 2026, Boston City Council convenes brief session to receive mayor's amended FY2027 budget, debate delayed to June 24. The council met remotely on June 17 solely to assign a docket number to the mayor's modified annual appropriation and tax order, Docket 1222, and refer it to the Committee on Ways and Means, chaired by Councilor Weber, after the mayor returned the council's June 10 veto-proof budget, Docket 0733, with modifications. Council President Braden told members that "any action, debate or vote on this docket would take place at the regularly scheduled council meeting on June 24th." Councilor Flynn alleged the council "likely violated Massachusetts open meeting law" at its prior session, claiming members communicated directly with the mayor's staff during a recess. The council adjourned 11 to 2, with Councilors Flynn and Murphy dissenting, after Weber offered to host a pre-vote working session Monday or Tuesday of the following week.
