Boston City Departments Fan Out to Josiah Quincy School for Neighborhood Town Hall

Uncategorized 2026-07-22 clip6226 · Meeting of July 22, 2026

Boston city departments hold neighborhood town hall at Josiah Quincy School. Police Commissioner William G. Gross opened the multi-department event, describing it as an effort to bring City Hall directly to residents rather than requiring constituents to travel downtown.

More than a dozen agencies were represented, including the Office of Workforce Development, which is actively recruiting for EMT and commercial driver positions at no cost to applicants; the Boston Home Center, which announced a March 14 homebuying expo at the Reggie Lewis Center featuring 28 lending partners; and Veterans Services Commissioner Robert Santiago, who highlighted the city's Chapter 115 benefit program and said the next Operation Thank-A-Vet community outreach stop is Roslindale. Residents can now order birth, death, and marriage records dating to 1630 online for $14.56 with two-day turnaround, and immigration legal clinics run by the Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement are available free every first and third Wednesday of the month.
