Boston Council Ways and Means Opens FY25 Budget Hearings for Law, Treasury Departments
BOSTON — May 21, 2024 — Boston City Council's Ways and Means Committee opened an FY25 budget review hearing Tuesday focused on the Law and Treasury departments. Councilor Brian Worrell, District 4 and committee chair, presided over the session alongside Councilors Edward M. Flynn, Erin J. Murphy, and Liz Breadon. The hearing covered docket numbers 0670 through 0678, encompassing FY25 operating budget orders, capital fund transfer appropriations, and capital budget loan orders and lease purchase agreements — all sponsored by Mayor Michelle Wu and referred to the committee on April 10. No formal votes were taken, and substantive departmental testimony had not yet begun when the available transcript concluded. The next public testimony hearing is scheduled for May 28 at 6 p.m.
