Boston English Eagles survived a 30-point collapse to beat the Charlestown Townies 97-90 in a Boston City League regular-season game broadcast on the city's Game of the Week. Sophomore guard Makai Diedrich recorded a quadruple-double — 35 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists, and 11 steals — to earn game MVP honors as English, leading 62-32 at halftime, watched Charlestown tie the game at 83 with roughly four minutes remaining before Diedrich and senior Jarrell Wiggins delivered the decisive plays, including an alley-oop dunk and a put-back and one in the final minute. "We just had to stay focused," Diedrich told sideline reporter Seth Orenski afterward.
"They kept making a couple threes, so we just had to get better on D." Charlestown's Desheen Perry finished with 26 points and Parham added 23 with eight three-pointers for the Townies, who remain at two wins on the season after a freshman-led comeback that exhausted itself in the final four minutes.
