Boston Public Facilities Commission clears three long-pending city land sales. Commissioners unanimously approved a $100 conveyance of 11A Everett Ave. in Dorchester to the Boston Food Forest Coalition, a $150,000 sale of a storm-damaged Roxbury duplex to Seth McCoy and Miguel Chavez, and a $5,554 sale of seven Mattapan parcels to Castle Rock Norfolk LLC. Development officer John Feuerbach said the Roxbury buyers, whose $150,000 offer sits well below the property's roughly $500,000 appraised value, will complete a "full historic gut rehabilitation" and pledged up to $9,000 in community contributions over five years.
A commissioner noted "we're actually getting a bargain" given the required historic work. The Mattapan sale is projected to yield 10 housing units, including seven income-restricted homes, and 18,331 hours of construction work, while the Dorchester parcel, vacant in the city's inventory nearly 30 years, will become a community food forest.
