Boston School Committee Approves Minutes, Previews September School Start

BOSTON — August 28, 2024 — Boston School Committee held routine business August 28, approving July and August meeting minutes by unanimous consent and introducing a new staff coordinator. Chairperson Jerry Robinson welcomed Karen Sullivan as the committee's new school committee coordinator, noting her background in the special education department. Superintendent Mary Skipper opened her report by announcing that students in grades 1-12 will return September 5, with K-0, K-1, and K-2 students following on September 9, saying the district is "thrilled to have our students back." The remainder of Skipper's report and any further committee business could not be verified because the meeting transcript ends in a prolonged automated speech recognition error.
