BPDA Board of Directors · Meeting of September 17, 2026
Boston's planning board accepts $11.4 million grant to launch free neighborhood shuttles. The BPDA and EDIC boards, chaired by Chair Rojas, voted unanimously to accept a $11,448,556 MassDOT pass-through grant funding fare-free "Link" shuttle service in Alston-Brighton, Charlestown, Mattapan, Roxbury and the South Boston waterfront, presented by Transit Team lead Matt Moran, who said "these will be fare-free." The board also heard a one-year update on Boston's "A Place to Thrive" anti-displacement plan from Planning Advisory Council director Catherine Lusk, who reported 36 of 53 initiatives now advancing. Separately, the board approved new housing units across two Brighton and Dorchester projects, representing roughly $19 million in investment, extended Chinatown developer ACDC/TCB's tentative designation for 111 affordable units, and restructured $135,000 in overdue mitigation payments owed by the Alston Green project.
