ICE May Expand Boston Presence As City, State Push Back

BOSTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement could be expanding its footprint in Boston, a move city and state officials are contesting, according to a WCVB report. The development came the same week the Boston City Council put its name behind a statement supporting Temporary Protected Status holders.

TOWN HALL

The Boston City Council issued a statement of support for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders this week, according to a post published on Boston.gov. At-Large Councilor Julia Mejia was among the members listed as backing the statement, which comes as immigration enforcement remains a live issue for the city (see Elsewhere in the News, below).
