BOSTON — Latin Academy defeats North Andover 68-44 in the first round of the 2020 MIAA Boys Basketball North Division II State Tournament. Junior guard Mason Lawson posted 16 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds — one rebound shy of a triple-double — to earn game MVP honors as the Dragons pulled away with a dominant third quarter after leading 30-23 at halftime. Off-bench contributor Abdullahi Aydin added 14 points and Muhammad Ali chipped in 14 as well, demonstrating the depth head coach Dan Bunker, in his 14th season at Latin Academy, has built into the program.

For North Andover, senior guard Kyle Moore struggled from beyond the arc all night despite his reputation as an elite outside shooter, while Aiden Heim and Jake Walensky each finished with 12 points in a losing effort for coach Paul Tanglas's squad, which qualified for the tournament via the Sullivan Rule.
