BOSTON — New Mission Titans dominated Brighton Bengals in Boston City League girls' high school basketball, shutting out Brighton 33-0 in the first quarter. Senior point guard Jashari Green scored 15 first-quarter points for New Mission, which improved to 6-1 on the season under head coach Vin Bowie. Sophomore Jalen Hernandez led Brighton with 18 points and seven rebounds despite a toe injury, while Destiny Long added eight points for the Bengals.

Jayla Gonzalez was named game MVP with nine points, six assists, and three rebounds, and Coach Bowie called her "probably one of the more underrated players in the city." New Mission's next major test is a home game against Fenway — which knocked the Titans out of last year's city semifinals — on Tuesday, January 21.
