Radio Players Bring 'The Maltese Falcon' to Boston Stage Thursday

DATELINE — BOSTON

The Post-Meridian Radio Players will perform a live, old-style radio-drama adaptation of "The Maltese Falcon" this week at the Boston Center for the Arts, one of the few dated items on the city's near-term cultural calendar.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Post-Meridian Radio Players will stage "The Maltese Falcon" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at the Plaza Theatres inside the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont St. The performance recreates the format of a classic-era radio broadcast, with actors reading the Dashiell Hammett detective story live before an audience rather than filming it as a stage play in the conventional sense.

COMING UP

Thursday, July 23: "The Maltese Falcon" live radio drama, 7:30 p.m., Plaza Theatres at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont St.
