Boston Board of Appeal Approves Dorchester Marijuana Dispensaries Along Washington Street

BOSTON — August 2, 2022 — Boston's Board of Appeal approved a marijuana dispensary application for 571B Washington Street in Dorchester at its August 2 meeting, with a second application for a related site at 570 Washington Street heard immediately after. The 571B Washington Street matter, a change of use from occupant storage to dispensary under Article 8, Section 7, passed 6-0 with a condition requiring Boston Planning and Development Agency review of any exterior modifications. Attorney Mark Conrad, representing the 571B applicant, told the board security cameras "blanket basically the entire facility" and that plans had been reviewed and approved by the Boston Cannabis Board. At 570 Washington Street — branded "Low-Key Number Two" — attorney Kyle Smith of Statero Law described a 69,000-square-foot parcel owned since 2009 with 20 to 30 parking spaces and proposed retail hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, hours already approved by the Cannabis Control Commission.
