Boston holds its first virtual One Boston Day as pandemic bars in-person commemoration. Mayor Martin Walsh convened a remote interfaith prayer service on April 15, 2020, the seventh anniversary of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, issuing a formal proclamation declaring the day one of reflection, prayer, and unity. Walsh named each of the bombing's victims by name and called physical distancing "itself an act of love and faith."
