Uncategorized 2020-03-06 clip6241 · Meeting of March 6, 2020
Boston Mayor Marty visited a Greater Boston YMCA summer program March 6, reading Dr. Seuss's "The Foot Book" to a group of young children in an informal session captured on Boston's community access TV. The mayor led the children through a birthday survey, a read-aloud, and a question-and-answer discussion of the book's content before introducing Boston Public Schools Superintendent Dr.
Brenda Casillas, whom he described as "the boss of all the schools in Boston", and the unnamed chief executive of the Greater Boston YMCA. No formal votes or policy announcements were made. The session closed with a group photograph in which the mayor, scrapping the traditional cheer, counted the children down to shout "feet, feet, feet."
