Boston launches COVID-19 testing for first responders at Suffolk Downs as city cases climb to 477. The mayor separately announced $2.5 million in grants from the Boston Resiliency Fund distributed to Health Care for the Homeless, Pine Street Inn, and Boston Medical Center to support care for the homeless population, and said the Newton Pavilion at Boston Medical Center would be reopened — with a capacity of 250 — for coronavirus-related homeless care. The city had served more than 100,000 free meals across more than 70 locations and distributed over 20,000 laptops since closing public schools, and was averaging approximately 13,000 meals a day.
