BOSTON — November 15, 2023 — Boston Public Facilities Commission approves $5.8 million in contracts across seven unanimous votes. The commission, composed of Commissioners Larry Memoli and Donald Wright, awarded a $2,750,920 design contract to Jones Architecture Incorporated for the East Grandstand and track and field at White Stadium in Jamaica Plain, a project carrying an estimated $46 million construction cost and tied to Boston Unity Soccer Partners' planned March 2026 opening day. PFD Director Kerri Griffin secured separate approval to seek an Inspector General's authorization for a construction management at-risk delivery method under Chapter 149A, which she said would cut the schedule by six months compared with standard procurement. The commission also approved a $2,878,200 design contract with Sasaki Architects PC for a new Angleston Square Branch Library in Roxbury to replace a 1953 structure, contract amendments of $155,000 to NV5 Consultants and $1,061,500 to CSS Architects to bridge a funding gap on MSBA school repair work at four Boston Public Schools, a $400 land conveyance in Roxbury for seven affordable housing units, and a transfer of 20,000 square feet of Mattapan wooded parcels to the Boston Conservation Commission for permanent preservation within the Mattahunt Woods urban wild.
