Boston PFC Approves Health Center Land Deal, 15 Affordable Units, Open Space Transfer

BOSTON — February 26, 2025 — Boston Public Facilities Commission clears seven actions including a $648,000 Dorchester health center land deal. At the February 26 meeting, the commission unanimously approved conveyance of two Dorchester parcels at 14 Ellington Street and 8 Old Road to Harbor Street Neighborhood Health Center Incorporated for $648,000, enabling construction of a 40,000-square-foot ADA-compliant facility that has secured $17 million in outside funding including a $5 million state bond-bill earmark. Housing Development Officer Tiara Satchibel noted the designation dates to March 2018 and has required five extensions. The commission also approved a $300 conveyance to Norfolk Capen LLC for 15 affordable homeownership units in Dorchester, a $400 transfer of 11,672 square feet to the Boston Food Forest Coalition for protected open space, a 12-month designation extension for a 48-unit mixed-income Washington Street rental project by Volnay Capital, and a $137,100 increase to the owner-project manager contract for accelerated repairs at four Boston schools.
