Boston Zoning Board Approves Dozens of Housing, Commercial Projects Across City

BOSTON — April 8, 2025 — Boston's Zoning Board of Appeal approved more than 20 development projects at its April 8 hearing, including new multifamily housing, a mini-golf entertainment venue, and a new Anna's Taqueria location in South Boston. Among the largest actions, the board unanimously approved 15 units of 100 percent affordable homeownership housing across three parcels in Dorchester — 11 Capon Street, 262 Norfolk Street, and 270 Norfolk Street — developed by Norfolk Capon LLC, an affiliate of Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation, as part of the city's Welcome Home Initiative Phase 2. The board also approved a 25-unit all-rental building at 23 to 25 North Beacon Street in Allston, brought by attorney Johanna Schneider on behalf of Alpha Management, with four IDP-affordable units and zero on-site parking. A final arbiter ruling cleared the way for a DJ booth as an ancillary use inside the planned miniature golf facility at 777 Boylston Street, the former Crate and Barrel space vacant for over three years. Four cases were deferred to May 6 or May 20, including a four-unit addition in East Boston at 218 Bremen Street where the board found the submitted plans lacked a required existing survey.
