Boston Zoning Board Approves February Minutes, Hears South Boston Extension Request

BOSTON — March 12, 2024 — Boston's Zoning Board of Appeal approved minutes from three February sessions and opened an extension hearing on a stalled South Boston development Tuesday. The six-member board voted unanimously to adopt minutes from February 6, February 15, and February 27 before moving to companion cases BOA-1290222 and BOA-1290228, covering 7 and 9 City Point Court. Both cases were originally approved March 8, 2022 — one to erect a new four-story, four-unit building at No. 7, the other to convert No. 9 from a three-family to a two-family — but construction never began after the owner, who lives on the property, faced a prolonged health crisis over the past year. The attorney representing the owner, whose mailing address of record is 350 West Broadway in South Boston, told the board the health issue has been resolved and the owner intends to complete a pending BPDA design review before commencing work. The transcript record ends during the presentation, and no vote on the extension was captured.
