BPDA Board Approves Dana-Farber Hospital, Downtown Conversions, and $80 Million Budget

BOSTON — June 12, 2025 — BPDA board unanimously advances Dana-Farber cancer hospital, two downtown conversions, and an $80.3 million FY26 budget. The board, chaired by Priscilla Rojas, approved the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute expansion at One Jocelyn Place after a supportive appearance by the District 8 city councilor, who noted the project will direct $83 million through the determination of need process, with $500,000 earmarked for the Tobin and Fenway Community Centers. Two office-to-residential pilot agreements — 295 Franklin Street (18 units) and 12 Post Office Square with 10 Liberty Square (70 units) — were approved, each receiving a 75 percent tax abatement for 29 years; Senior Program Manager John While reported the conversion program has now generated 762 units across 15 applications, including 139 affordable units. The board also extended tentative designations through December 31 for both the Lincoln Property Company and Quaker Lane Capital life-science-and-firehouse project at 7 Channel Street and Drexel Village LLC's 217-unit mixed-use Crescent Parcel development in Nubian Square, and authorized a $1,077,312 janitorial contract with ABM Industry Groups LLC for 12 Channel Street.
