Boston ZBA Approves Six Roslindale and Hyde Park Residential Projects Unanimously

BOSTON — November 25, 2025 — Boston Zoning Board of Appeal unanimously approves five residential variances in Roslindale and Hyde Park. The board, chaired by an official whose name was not clearly captured in the audio, moved through its November 25 docket without a single dissenting vote, approving projects ranging from a 180-square-foot third-floor addition at 53 to 55 Dustin Street to a two-unit three-bedroom townhouse replacement at 21 to 23 Fairview Street — the latter approved with a proviso requiring Boston Planning Department design review on a curb cut that attorney Richard Linds said was approximately 16 feet wide, above the department's typical 12-foot residential standard. Two abutters at the Fairview Street project, Barbara Kibler of 26 Conway Street and Greg Buckland of 14 Sim Street, testified they had received no notice of prior community meetings. Board member Mr. Valencia publicly asked the applicant to organize a follow-up meeting with those neighbors and also secured a commitment on rodent baiting and trapping before demolition begins. A paired set of applications for four homeownership units across two townhouse buildings at 128 to 130 Kittredge Street — on a lot exceeding 13,000 square feet with a single 12-foot curb cut — was still before the board when the record ended.
