Latin Academy Defeats Snowden 57-50 to Advance in Boston City League Playoffs

BOSTON — July 19, 2026 — Latin Academy defeats Snowden 57-50 in Boston City League boys basketball first round. The defending city champion Dragons used at least three rotating zone defenses to limit Snowden's offense and built a lead as large as 19 points before holding on at Orchard Gardens K-8 School in Roxbury. Senior center Osasu Wogarin was named player of the game with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks. "Pressure is a privilege," Wogarin said after the game, citing a phrase from head coach Danny Bunker. Snowden's Omari Brooks, who had scored 40 points in a regular-season game, was held to 10 points, while Latin Academy guard Osman Aiden buried four three-pointers and finished with 15. Latin Academy, now 14-4, will face New Mission in the City League boys semifinal Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. at Madison Park High School; Bunker acknowledged his team lost to New Mission by three points in a regular-season meeting.
