Boston PIC Approves Roxbury Housing Easements, Defers Eversource Transmission Line Vote

BOSTON — October 5, 2023 — Boston's Public Improvement Commission approved two infrastructure petitions for a Roxbury affordable senior housing project and continued four others to October 19. The commission voted unanimously to accept a 1,062-square-foot pedestrian easement and approve specific repairs — including new curbing, street trees, and sidewalk reconstruction — for 1 Tabor Street LLC's planned 48-unit senior housing development at the corner of Tabor and Warren streets in Roxbury, represented by Jacob Murray of Waterfield Design Group. The commission's most complex new business item, Eversource's 1.2-mile underground transmission line from Andrew Square to Dwar Station in Dorchester and South Boston, was continued after legal counsel identified as Colin told the commission he had not yet received the executed memorandum of understanding and called for both the MOU and a related license agreement to be "finalized, signed, executed before the public hearing." Eversource community relations representative Jason Ray committed to returning the executed MOU before the October 19 session.
