Boston Public Facilities Commission Approves $746,500 in School Repair Contract Amendments

BOSTON -- January 31, 2024, Boston's Public Facilities Commission unanimously approved six votes at its January 31 meeting, covering school repair contracts and Roxbury land actions totaling more than $900,000 in contract and sale value. Chair Catherine Craven presided as the commission approved $700,000 in additional funding for NV5 Consultants Incorporated and $46,500 for CSS Architects Incorporated to complete work at four Boston Public Schools, Jeremiah Burke High School, English High School, the Haley Pilot School in Roslindale, and Henderson Upper School in Dorchester, under the 2022 Massachusetts School Building Authority Accelerated Repairs Program. The Mayor's Office of Housing, represented by Chief Sheila Dillon's team, secured approval for two Roxbury land conveyances, a triangular parcel on Saint James Street sold for $5,000 to Craig Spears and a Sachem Street parcel sold for $150,000 to David Hassman, along with six-month and 12-month developer designation extensions for Mass Liberation Incorporated's Blue Hill Avenue community open space project and MTK Development's proposed 18-unit affordable homeownership building on five vacant Roxbury lots.
