Boston PFC Awards $5.4 Million OPM Contract for Madison Park Vocational High School

BOSTON -- February 28, 2024, Boston's Public Facilities Commission unanimously approved six votes at its February 28 meeting, headlined by a $5,427,600 owner project manager contract awarded to Leftfield LLC to oversee the Madison Park Technical Vocational High School overhaul at 75 Malcolm X Boulevard in Roxbury, a project with a total construction budget of $660 million. Commission Chair Catherine Craven presided as PFD Director Carrie Griffin confirmed the department had studied four conceptual plans before settling on a phased approach that will keep portions of the school occupied during construction, with swing space described as a significant cost complicating factor. The commission also approved a $241,444 amendment to the Long Island Preservation Project OPM contract, bringing that total to $1,031,602, and a $69,760 amendment to Skanska USA's contract for the Josiah Quincy Upper School, expected to open for the 2024-2025 school year. In the Mayor's Office of Housing portion, the commission extended developer designations for three projects: a 47-unit mixed-use building on Washington Street in Dorchester by Volney Capital LLC, 15 units of affordable homeownership along Blue Hill Avenue in Roxbury by Ennis Partners LLC, and a new health center in Dorchester by Harborside Street Neighborhood Health Center, which has secured $9 million in outside financing and received ZBA approval.
