Boston PFC Approves Four MOH Votes, Overhauls Developer Vetting Policy

BOSTON -- June 25, 2025, Boston's Public Facilities Commission unanimously approved four Mayor's Office of Housing votes and acknowledged a proposed overhaul of its developer vetting process at its June 25 meeting. Commissioner Catherine Craven chaired the session, at which Senior Development Officer Joe Bachner secured 12-month extensions for both Madison Park Development Corporation's designation at 75-81 Dudley Street in Roxbury and Cruise Development Corporation's designation at 135 Dudley Street and 2430 and 2406 Washington Street, the latter now running to 84 months from its 2019 origin. Senior Program Manager Sylvia Adorno won approval to accept a $225,000 state foreclosure prevention grant, the 18th consecutive year MOH has received the award, with Adorno reporting that 165 homeowners received counseling assistance this fiscal year and 85 foreclosure petition letters have already been sent. Program Manager Theresa Strachillo secured a 12-month extension for Boston Farms Community Land Trust at 115-123 Bird Street in Dorchester, a parcel in MOH inventory for over 33 years that carries roughly $1,045 in annual city maintenance costs. Director of Administration and Finance Rick Wilson then presented a revised loops policy that would raise the delinquency threshold to $1,000 combined and over 45 days past due, extend loops approval validity from 90 days to six months, and eliminate loops checks for designation extensions, changes Wilson said have been approved by Chief Shayla Dylan and Acting Legal Director Aliyah Bara.
