Boston PIC Approves Hyde Park Easement, Two National Grid Gas Stations in Roxbury

BOSTON — February 27, 2025 — Boston's Public Improvement Commission unanimously approved a pedestrian easement and sidewalk repairs for a 27-unit Hyde Park residential project and two National Grid gas regulator station replacements in Roxbury at its February 27 meeting. Chair Yasha Franklin-Hodge led the hearing, during which Milan Patel of HHC1 Arnold LLC secured approval for a 3.5-foot easement and curb reconstruction at 7 Dana Avenue, while National Grid's Peter Nagel won permits for stations at South Hampton Street and Theodore A. Glenway and at Amory Street and Marbury Terrace, with a certified arborist required on site at the latter to protect an abutting tree. Eight petitions tied to the 495 Dorchester Avenue mixed-use project in South Boston were continued to March 13. The commission also scrutinized a Boston Parks and Recreation proposal to improve Kenmore Block on Commonwealth Avenue, with Franklin-Hodge pressing the department to confirm that pending MassDOT Bowker Overpass work would not result in reconstructing the same curb ramps twice with city funds.
